Lion Rampant shortlisted in Origin Awards 2015

A couple of days back, I was pointed in the direction of The Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design's website. The shortlisted nominees for the Origins Awards 2015 are shown there - awards for 'outstanding games in the industry' - and I was very excited to see Lion Rampant on the list in the 'Best historical miniatures rules' category.

As I understand it, publishers submit their nominations (in the same way as most book awards work), the panel then shortlists 10 of these, which is then reduced to 5 'nominees' by traders at one of the big US conventions, and then it's back to the panel to make their final choice at the start of June.

Now, I don't expect to win, but just being in the top 5 is fine by me. I was really pleased to see Top Chums from the Saga game making the nominees list too - two medieval skirmish games in the top 5 is surely good news for players into this period. Two Age of Sail games as well, who'd a thunk it?

And I can now proudly display the little logo shown above. Not sure how best to do so… facial tattoo perhaps?

Here's a fuller explanation of the Origin Awards:
