Have Axe, Will Travel: Characters for hire in Dragon Rampant

HERE BE…

a festive gift to owners of the new Dragon Rampant rules: some whimsical characters that throw out new ideas to juggle with, or bring a certain je ne sais quoi to your battles.

Nothing says ‘I don’t know what’ like a bare-chested, oiled-up barbarian riding a massive tiger.

They are all Single Model Units.

ALAN THE OGRE
Bellicose Foot + Fear (fetid smell) @ 6 points

ARDENUFF THE TROLL SLAYER
Elite Foot + Troll Slayer @ 6/10 points

BRESSLORE’S FLOATING EYE
Lesser Warbeast + Flyer + Hatred + Venomous @ 10 points

FINBAR THE WAR HEDGEHOG
Lesser Warbeast + spiny missiles @ 5 points
·      Spiny missiles: Shoot 6+/Range 6” hitting on 5+. When Finbar is scared, he is capable of firing out spines over short distances (1 point). Beware!

ICECONE THE BARBARIAN ON A MASSIVE TIGER!
Elite Rider + Enchanted Weapon + Fear @ 9 points

MACTAVISH AND MR NESBIT
Bellicose Foot + War Bagpipes @ 6 points
·      War bagpipes: Count as a Blessed melee weapon; success means that the enemy warband is numbed by the sound of Mr Nesbit’s ‘music’ (2 points)

SILVERSWORD THE COWARDLY PALADIN
Offensive Heavy Foot + Blessed Weapon + Fearful @ 6 points

THE MIGHTY SUMMONER, COLIN
Heavy Foot + Summoner @ 7 points

THE WIZARD OF WORD MOUNTAIN, BRINGER OF DECISIONS
Elite Foot + Tentacles + Spellcaster @ 10 points
·      Tentacles on his face: No effect on gameplay, but just don’t mention them or stare at them.

TOADSTOOLS OF ARAMIS
Option for all troop types except Flyers and Missile units @ 2 points
·      A unit including Aramis toadstools gains 1 extra Armour when being targeted by Shooting (not Attacks or Spells): the toadstools fire out defensive spores when attacked by such ‘birds’. The toadstools must be modelled on a base to accompany the unit.

ANDREW ELDRITCH STATUE

Place anywhere on table before deployment; gives +1 bonus to all friendly unit’s Courage tests within 12” @ 2 points.

Perhaps one day I'll get around to photographing the models I use for these characters - mostly a mixture of Reaper and EM4.
